1. General information
The subject aims for the student to know the theoretical models of Psychology and to be able to critically evaluate them . The student will know the social and anthropological dimension of the human being , considering historical and cultural factors that influence human psychology. The aim of is that the student knows the legal framework that regulates professional practice and can adjust to the code of ethics in Psychology. The student will obtain the basis for interpreting social, scientific or ethical data. These approaches and objectives are aligned with the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations 2030 Agenda: 3: Health and wellness; 4: Quality Education; 5. Gender Equality. 10 Reduction of inequalities; 16: Peace, justice and solid institutions and 17: Alliances to Achieve Goals.
2. Learning results
The theoretical and practical knowledge acquired in this subject allows to integrate and contextualize the contents of the rest of the subjects of the degree. Likewise, the transversal competencies acquired are essential in other areas, both academic and professional. The contents on ethics and legislation in psychology will provide an essential scheme of action in professional practice . The aim is to provide the necessary knowledge to detect ethical and legal problems during the professional activity in any of the fields related to psychology.
In order to pass this subject, the students shall demonstrate they has acquired the following results:

To know the different theoretical models of psychology and to be able to critically assess their contributions and limitations.

To know the social and anthropological dimension of the human being considering the historical and sociocultural factors involved in the human psychological configuration.

To know the legal framework that regulates professional practice and conforms to ethical principles and the Code of Ethics of Psychology.

To be able to gather and interpret relevant data to make judgments that include a reflection on relevant social, scientific or ethical issues.

4. Academic activities
The learning process of this subject is based on: Theoretical classes - with explanation of the contents of the subject. They will be complemented with the recommended bibliography. Practices - Based on problem solving and case studies; debates and oral presentations; papers; viewing and discussion of audiovisual material. The practical classes will be related to the theoretical contents.
In the tutorials, the doubts about the contents of the subject, about the writing of reports and about practical aspects of the subject will be answered. Finally, the student should self-regulate the learning process and manage the non-face-to-face study hours.
5. Assessment system
The practical part has a weight of 40% of the grade and the theoretical part has a weight of 60% and are assessed individually.
Continuous assessment. Theoretical part: Every three topics, there will be a test with 7-10 questions per topic. The final grade will be the arithmetic mean of all tests. Wrong answers are penalized (Grade = right answers - errors/3). This grade will represent, optionally, 70% of the final theory grade. That is, 70% of the final grade coming from the global test (theoretical exam). Practical part: Individual or group reports will be linked to the practices . The participation and quality of presentations and reports will be evaluated. Once this practical part has been passed, it is not necessary to pass the final practical exam.
In order to be eligible for the continuous evaluation of the practices, a minimum attendance of 80% is required .
Global test. The student may opt for the maximum grade in the global test, independently of the continuous evaluation. Theoretical exam ( 60% of the grade): It involves 7- 10 questions per topic, assesses all thematic units. The grading system has been detailed above; Practical exam (40% of the grade): presents a set of short questions that evaluate the knowledge of the practices.
